A member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) since 1997, Myanmar currently ranks 70th in GDP. With more investments from East Asian countries, the fintech industry is on route to growth and will likely be a key player in the country's modernization. While Myanmar currently has a small number of fintech companies compared to other SEA countries, the country is almost entirely focused on digitizing and developing mobile payments.
